Alex and Karen run Baba Studio in the centre of Prague. The studio is very focused stylistically on "Magic Realism", and philosophically on socially aware projects that encourage tolerance, imagination and empathy. Work is published by The Magic Realist Press.

Alex is from the Crimea. He did thirteen years of training in art and design and has two degrees in art and design, one from Kharkov Academy of Design and Arts in the Ukraine. Karen is Irish, but lived in London for many years, running a web and multimedia design company (you can read her commentary on that period here. She has an MA from the Royal College of Art in London, and has taught and acted as external examiner at several leading London art colleges.
Baba studio's work has been shown in many design magazines including UK's Eye and Design Week, US Print, France's Creation, Portugal's Parq, and the US teen style magazine, Shojo Beat. We've also, slightly more surprisingly, been featured in Antiques and Collectibles, when Tarot of Prague was recommended as a collectible for the future. Tarot of Prague also appeared on the CBS serial Ghost Whisperer.
